Made on Film
I began photography with film. As a teenager, I learned to use a film camera and develop black-and-white photographs in the darkroom. Later, I fell in love with slide film and the richness of its color. After many years, I’ve found my way back to analog photography and rediscovered the slower, more intentional process that first drew me in.
Today, I primarily photograph with a refurbished Canon AE-1 and a Mamiya 7 medium format camera. The Canon travels easily and feels familiar in my hands, while the Mamiya 7 slows me down and gets me to dial in my process.
This collection brings together images from years of working with film photography-from 35mm to 6×7 medium format negatives-photographing landscapes and light mostly in the Pacific Northwest and Northern California. I love the texture of film images, the imperfections, and the process of creating unique images.
